Answering you questions

1. answer to Lauran E:  Yes it's pretty easy to find stuff in English on the Metro. it's in English and in Russian.  But I made it just in English because I thought you would understand it more. I could have done it in Russian so you could learn Russian but, i didn't.  You don't always have to know Cyrillic to get around.

2. Next question of Lauran E: The farthest station I've been on is Sportivnaya on the purple line.  Now 3rd question of Lauran E. The escalators are all different lengths.

Livia, answering her questions now:  You don't need to know Cyrillic to get around. I'm sorry, you don't have to look at the ones that are answering Lauran E, but you can look at this. This is the same for the other people too.  It does help when you know Cyrillic. some of it is in English. I know a little bit of Cyrillic I know kinds of food. I'm sure that when I'm reading a sign it doesn't say "Moloko" (that means "milk") so if it isn't about easy words, I can't read it.  Like when I try to say Indian in Russian, I say Indiana.  Answering Livia's next question:  the purple line is the most fanciest design at the escalators. That was a short one!

ba ba black sheep
Answering Nana's a lot of questions:  Nana is my relative and of course you know that she's my nana.  Nana, I love you. That's the first thing I'm gonna say.  OK. There are hot dog carts and ice cream carts like in NY city.  There are climbers in the parks.  The parks are not as usual as the ones in America. Because the park I know is right when you get out of Gorkovskaya so that's the only park i know well.  And there isn't just a playground right when you get inside of the park.  We just walk in the park mostly.  We don't play there very often.   Subway seats are comfortable and they are clean. We don't always get to sit though!  We saw fireworks just a few nights ago.  We saw the fireworks from our balcony. Because we didn't want to go to Peter Paul Fortress and be all crowded like "ahhhhh".  We can see Peter Paul Fortress from our balcony. I dont get how fireworks can be even bigger than Peter Paul Fortress.

Schools over. SUMMER VA CA TION!!!!
When we go to bed it's still light.
This is a song i made up:  "The stars are not out. The stars are not out. The moon is not so bright"

this is from winter. no snow now!  hello kids! ba ba ba

Bye Bye.  Love to all.

The Metro Stations

There is something that is called the Metro.  you gotta know the Metro because it's some sort of train. It's like the subway. You know the subway? In New York?  Well this is a Metro.  We use it a lot of times to get to places. It is underground. There are REALLY long escalators because it has to get under the NEVA. The Neva is a big river.  Some Metro stations are fancy. Some aren't. Some has doors, some don't.  I will show you a picture of the Metro Map.

I'm writing this in the order of my favorite lines because I just like to do that:  There is the Red Line - it's my favorite because it's very fancy.  It's always a different design at each station.  Then the Purple Line - it's my second favorite because, it's like the Red line except it's littler fancy but way more fancy at the escalators.  Then it's the Orange Line - it's my third favorite because it is very modern and there are lights all over it.  Then it's the Green Line - it's my fourth favorite because you can see doors but you can't see the train.  But there's another metal door that opens first.  Then it's the Blue Line. It's ALWAYS crowded, especially it's the special time of the day were everybody leaves their jobs. The other times, it's STILL crowded.  We live on the Blue Line which is very sad for me.  Our stop is called Gorkovskaya. I like that stop because when you step out of it, you are just in a big huge park and our home is really close to it.  We have a joke that our stop looks like a UFO.  Or a space ship.
this is how deep the metros are! i bet you cant see the top!
I like the Metro's because they are very fast and it's kind of weird because when they show on the map a long time its really short! those circles on the map are stops when it shows a long time between the circles it's a short time. so when you go to a short place you gotta prepare for a LONG time!
This is Top Secret!  I think that when I'm going for the long time, I actually think it's like a year.
Gorkovskaya. Doesn't it look like a spaceship or UFO??
This is what the red line looks like. but there are many kinds of stations
Its different from getting around in Minneapolis or all the other countries because there are Marshutkas.  In Minneapolis we use a car. but in Russia we don't have a car. Marshutkas .are like buses but they have numbers so you know which one you wanna take.  Do you think you know enough about Metro? No you don't!  I've been studying the Metro here a lot. And I mean a LOT.  I've been examining them and I know almost everything about the Metros.  We haven't gone to a lot of stops. I wish we lived on the Red Line so we could see all of it. I love the Red Line because a heart is Red and the line is Red. Ha ha isn't that a funny joke?  Thanks for reading my blog!  I'm sorry that most of the pictures have Sasha in them.  I hope I'll have comments and followers on this post!  I have no idea what's going to be next on my next post.  Nothing I'm thinking about yet.  Please send me your questions.  I'll try to answer them. Hope you like the video of me at the top! Bye bye!

cats and kittens!!!

I am Daniel. Does anybody know me??
This is me. I mean, a picture of me!
I am six.  I am writing this blog because I just want to.  I saw my Mama making a blog so you know, I'm a really crazy person and I just got the idea of making another blog.  This blog is called Mama and Me because it IS about my Mama and me.  I am in Russia!  Because Mama wanted to have a break of her job and she chose to go to Russia. Which I don't know exactly why she chose Russia. I think she just wants me to be very sad.  So, you know what?  Will anybody read this?

Everybody who does not know me, I'm sure you know me now!  Because you are reading my blog and you have seen a picture of me and you know I am six and my name is Daniel.  I went to a cat show. It is shown right below here:

me with some cats plus I think one is a kitten

Me and Sasha on a turret on wheels!
I am a kid stuck in Russia. I've been here for two months and I'm gonna be here for four months. So I have two months left to have a good time in Russia!  There is an artillery museum here and I'm gonna show you pictures of it.  I have a brother Sasha and he and I are playing on a big turret.  If you are a kid and you are visiting St. Petersburg, you might want to go to the Artillery Museum.  There are tanks that you can climb on. They are real but they don't work and there is no ammo.

This a cat at the Hermitage, pooping. I think it's hard to see it
ice cream at the Hermitage before we saw the cat pooping
not really scared.
There is a building here called the Hermitage.  It is a VERY famous building. It's where the King and Queen used to live but now it's turned into a museum because they are dead.  I have not been inside but I have been on the outside and it is a VERY beautiful building and you should visit it.  I think inside there is golden stairs and I think there would be Peter the Great's room (he's the king).  There are cats that live in the basement of the Hermitage!  They catch mice.  Once I saw one come out to poop.  And it marked her area.  Here she is.

I went to an aquarium. I PRETENDED to be scared of these piranas.

I want to play with Mama now so good bye.

I hope you leave a comment and I hope you read this blog.  From, Daniel.
