Answering you questions

1. answer to Lauran E:  Yes it's pretty easy to find stuff in English on the Metro. it's in English and in Russian.  But I made it just in English because I thought you would understand it more. I could have done it in Russian so you could learn Russian but, i didn't.  You don't always have to know Cyrillic to get around.

2. Next question of Lauran E: The farthest station I've been on is Sportivnaya on the purple line.  Now 3rd question of Lauran E. The escalators are all different lengths.

Livia, answering her questions now:  You don't need to know Cyrillic to get around. I'm sorry, you don't have to look at the ones that are answering Lauran E, but you can look at this. This is the same for the other people too.  It does help when you know Cyrillic. some of it is in English. I know a little bit of Cyrillic I know kinds of food. I'm sure that when I'm reading a sign it doesn't say "Moloko" (that means "milk") so if it isn't about easy words, I can't read it.  Like when I try to say Indian in Russian, I say Indiana.  Answering Livia's next question:  the purple line is the most fanciest design at the escalators. That was a short one!

Answering Nana's a lot of questions:  Nana is my relative and of course you know that she's my nana.  Nana, I love you. That's the first thing I'm gonna say.  OK. There are hot dog carts and ice cream carts like in NY city.  There are climbers in the parks.  The parks are not as usual as the ones in America. Because the park I know is right when you get out of Gorkovskaya so that's the only park i know well.  And there isn't just a playground right when you get inside of the park.  We just walk in the park mostly.  We don't play there very often.   Subway seats are comfortable and they are clean. We don't always get to sit though!  We saw fireworks just a few nights ago.  We saw the fireworks from our balcony. Because we didn't want to go to Peter Paul Fortress and be all crowded like "ahhhhh".  We can see Peter Paul Fortress from our balcony. I dont get how fireworks can be even bigger than Peter Paul Fortress.

Schools over. SUMMER VA CA TION!!!!
When we go to bed it's still light.
This is a song i made up:  "The stars are not out. The stars are not out. The moon is not so bright"

  1. Hi Daniel,
    I love your song!
The metro stuff was extremely interesting. Your stop does look like a UFO!
When you go for a walk in the park, do you see any animals? Do they look different than the ones here?
My husband told me yesterday about a guy in Japan sells bugs to kids for pets. The bugs are mostly beetles with long horns and weird wings and legs. They are incredibly popular pets in that part of Japan. So far, they have not become popular in the USA. What about in Russia?
    All the best,
    Miriam

  3. This is a really interesting post! It made me think though to ask what kinds of sports and games do children play outside? are they the same kind of games that American children play?

Just wondering . . . since you are now the real life expert!
