cats and kittens!!!

I am Daniel. Does anybody know me??
This is me. I mean, a picture of me!
I am six.  I am writing this blog because I just want to.  I saw my Mama making a blog so you know, I'm a really crazy person and I just got the idea of making another blog.  This blog is called Mama and Me because it IS about my Mama and me.  I am in Russia!  Because Mama wanted to have a break of her job and she chose to go to Russia. Which I don't know exactly why she chose Russia. I think she just wants me to be very sad.  So, you know what?  Will anybody read this?

Everybody who does not know me, I'm sure you know me now!  Because you are reading my blog and you have seen a picture of me and you know I am six and my name is Daniel.  I went to a cat show. It is shown right below here:

me with some cats plus I think one is a kitten

Me and Sasha on a turret on wheels!
I am a kid stuck in Russia. I've been here for two months and I'm gonna be here for four months. So I have two months left to have a good time in Russia!  There is an artillery museum here and I'm gonna show you pictures of it.  I have a brother Sasha and he and I are playing on a big turret.  If you are a kid and you are visiting St. Petersburg, you might want to go to the Artillery Museum.  There are tanks that you can climb on. They are real but they don't work and there is no ammo.

This a cat at the Hermitage, pooping. I think it's hard to see it
ice cream at the Hermitage before we saw the cat pooping
not really scared.
There is a building here called the Hermitage.  It is a VERY famous building. It's where the King and Queen used to live but now it's turned into a museum because they are dead.  I have not been inside but I have been on the outside and it is a VERY beautiful building and you should visit it.  I think inside there is golden stairs and I think there would be Peter the Great's room (he's the king).  There are cats that live in the basement of the Hermitage!  They catch mice.  Once I saw one come out to poop.  And it marked her area.  Here she is.

I went to an aquarium. I PRETENDED to be scared of these piranas.

I want to play with Mama now so good bye.

I hope you leave a comment and I hope you read this blog.  From, Daniel.

  1. Daniel- my sons Owen and Gareth, do you remember them? You met them a few summers ago...anyway, they remember living in Russia for a few years when they were younger than you. I know how much you will appreciate this time when you are older, so have fun and make the most of it. I like your blog- you are funny, and observant.

I really like this blog. I am really interested in cats and how they poop. Can you please write more about this subject in future blog posts? Also, can you tell me more about how you can have a great time for the next two months in Russia?
    Also, I love you!

  3. Hi Daniel,
I really enjoyed reading your blog. I hope you find some more fun stuff to do in Russia. Your Mom and I used to dance together when we were kids - that is how I know your family. It is cool to think of you guys visiting Russia and seeing a lot of different things.
I wonder if golden stairs are slippery? I bet a cat would have no problem going up and down them.
Looking forward to your next post,
    Miriam

  4. Daniel,
You may not know me, but Scott, my husband, used to work with your Mom at Auburn University. I'll bet you remember Auburn, don't you?
I think it is fantastic that you are spending four months in Russia. What a great opportunity to see so many wonderful sights. Take as many pictures as you can while you are there because years from now, you will look back with great interest at your photos. Enjoy your stay. This is an experience you will never forget!

  6. Hello Daniel,
We have never met. I am an old college chum of your Mom's, and I live in Chicago now. I read anything I can get my hands on about cats, because I love them. I have a big orange tabby cat named Chief. He acts more like a dog than a cat, and likes to play fetch with his toys. And he sleeps on the end of my bed every night.
Good luck with your blog, and enjoy the rest of your time in Russia!

  7. Daniel!
This is Prentiss. I am keeping your house and cat and fish safe while you and your family are in Russia! It's so exciting to see all you've done so far. I can't wait for the next post. I especially liked seeing the cat show. Speaking of cats, Ginger misses you and Sasha very much. He is doing well though.

    Can't wait to hear more!

  13. Daniel:

I REALLY like your blog! Congratulations on it. I am Harold the father of your mother and I live in Manhattan New York City with my very good friend Maggie. We have two cats here - they are Sisters from the same liter. One we call “Loud Mouth” because she is always Meowing! They seem to be always looking as though they are deep in some thought or other. Very dignified they are. We also have two dogs here and they are much more well - Glumpy! They are very interested in all kinds of food and taking walks. Do you like Dogs and Cats and other Animals? I sure like them all. I hope you have a wonderful time in Russia and hope we could see you soon so you could tell me all about that far away place. I have never been there and would be very interested in what you think about it. Maybe you could let me know in later notes on your wonderful blog! Thanks for that.

    Love
    Grandpa Harold

  14. Daniel,
I have never been to Russia, but I am getting a feel for the place by reading your blog. Thank you. I had always associated the hermitage with art, but now I think "Art and frozen cat poo." So it's more of a realistic, true-to-life picture. And this makes my mind richer and happier. I hope I get to go to St. Petersburg someday, but if I don't, I will al least have your dispatches from that beautiful city.
    I love you
    Uncle David
